As the summer rolls toward an end, we're seeing so much progress at the Bayview building. Here's a list of everything we've got going on:
In the small chapel, the stained glass window has been removed and the frame meticulously restored. It's at a glass shop being fit with new frosted glass to match the side windows.
Also in the chapel, carpet has been ordered and will be installed in the next few weeks.
The bathrooms have been plumbed, fitted for electrical, and drywalled. The tiling is almost complete. Next is finishing the untiled parts of the walls and ceiling, then fixture installation. We're getting close!
In the fellowship hall, the walls of the unused storage area have been removed and the remaining walls, floor, and ceiling have all been repaired.
What's left to do for immediate projects:
One small roof section over a furnace room still to be replaced and the door to that room repaired
New glass entrance doors installed
Sanctuary tear out, stage rebuilt on opposite side of the room, production team area built, paint, carpet
Ark built and production equipment installed in sanctuary
Chairs for sanctuary and chapel need to be chosen and ordered
Kitchen repairs and equipment needs to be purchased
Fellowship hall needs paint, lighting repairs, floors cleaned and polished, and major cleaning throughout
Parking and walkways decisions to be made
It may seem like a lot is left to do, but it's encouraging to see what's been accomplished already and to be developing a plan to complete the rest. We continue to trust G-d with the entire thing. After all, it's a gift from Him and it's for His glory!
